What is a Cast/Crew Bio?
“Bio” is short for “biography.” It is a brief paragraph (3-5 sentences) written in the third person (she, he) that states the role you play in the production (cast role or crew role- Artistic Design/Backstage/Lighting etc.) as well as other details about yourself that you want to share with the audience. Many cast and crew ensemble members share their age or grade, favorite performance experiences they may have had, and other activities they enjoy doing (hobbies/sports etc.). Many also thank the people that supported them throughout the production process and/or dedicate their performance to someone special in their lives. Our cast and crew bios will be displayed in the front lobby on the days of the performances. Please see the sample below.
SAMPLE BIO:
Zack Smith (Romeo): Zack, a 7th grader, is proud to be playing Romeo today in his third appearance on the Blind Brook Middle School stage. Among his favorite roles are Ziggy in “Where did my shoes go?” and Rick in “Oh. There they are.” He also enjoys playing soccer and spinning plates. He would like to thank his parents and his great- aunt Irma for all their love and support. He dedicates his performance today to his Grandma and Pop-pop.
